The Kentucky Innovation Network Process
The KY Innovation Network deploys a best-in-class commercialization model that provides a clearly defined roadmap for moving entrepreneurs from idea to commercial success - Assessment, Business Planning, and Capitalization (ABC).
At its core, the model divides the company’s lifecycle into three phases: Concept, Development and Commercial. Each phase is built upon three main activities: technical, marketing, and business (or finance).
As entrepreneurs progress through the model, they create, compile and assess their venture's probability to succeed and attract private equity capital. Once they have completed a technical feasibility study, market assessment and understand the economic viability of the concern, they are ready to create a business plan.
Each director works with the client to craft a custom work plan for accomplishing the milestones and achieving the desired result - creating a high growth organization that is venture ready.

At the core of our service is the Innovation Process - a set of detailed steps and guidelines that help entrepreneurs refine their business strategy, financials, investor presentation, concept, and valuation. This detailed framework creates a professional business package for entrepreneurs that potential investors can use to quickly and easily assess their level of interest. The Process is built around well-defined steps that result in a solid business concept, valuation of the company, and investor presentation.
Companies are initially assessed to determine if they are a good match for the KY Innovation Network (knowledge-based technology and high growth potential, etc.) otherwise, we will help connect you to the right provider.
Stage 1 focuses primarily on the creation of a competitive business plan, integrated financials, and an elevator pitch.
Stage 2 focuses on company valuation, investor pitch, and adding companies to the Kentucky Capital Network where qualified investors look at KY Innovation Network client opportunities.
